The Power of Dreams

Honda has made a series of short documentaries titled, "The Power of Dreams". Many of them attempt to explain why/how Honda has innovative in the past, and how they will be the leaders of innovation in the future. The videos apply to what we study in this class, especially as we start the Automation and Robotics units.

In a comment below, answer the two questions that follow (They go along with the first two videos on the playlist.)

  1. 1st Video: When do you think it will be popular to have a personal robot in your home? 30 years from now? 50? Would you like that?
  2. 2nd Video: What will "Mobility" look like in the year 2088? How will people get where they want to go?

I think robots will be in our homes soon such as 30 years. I wouldn't mind having a robot but at first the robot is going to have to earn my trust because I don't know how I feel about leaving it in my house.
I think mobility has a lot to go through before 2088. I think a lot is going to happen in that amount of time and the possibility of robot controlled cars is what I think will be the most popular.

It will probably be popular in 50 years. I don't think that I would like it. I would prefer having a real person to talk to.

They will probably have cars like we do now, but will more efficient and tech savy

I really don't think we will have personal robots at home. We might have them at large offices, but I don't think we will at home. But we will have accomplished great heights.

I think that we will have cars that are just largely upgraded. The possibilities are endless. We might have flying cars, or autopilot cars.

I think that it won't be long until people have personal robots in their home. Maybe 20 years from now. I like to be optimistic about the future. If we even drive cars in the year 2088, they better not run on gasoline, because the world wouldn't look very pretty then. I also hope that we get fly cars!

I think there will be autopilot cars and it will be a lot less driving. They will go from place to place with cars.

Cars will travel smoothly and have better cars

I don't think that anyone will have flying cars 84 years from now, but we can always dream, and when we do, anything is possible.

I think that all of the cars will be self driven and computer automated

Anonymous said...

It will be very different. We will use teleportation.

Anonymous said...

People will be lazy. We won't have to do anything. We would be able to program cars to know where to go

Anonymous said...

I think the mobility in 2088 will be flying cars, or possibly been cooler things.

Mobility will be so advanced and efficient that we will not polite and we will hardly notice we are at another place or it will go back to horses and other modes of transportation so we can become more efficient

I think that there will be flying cars and jet packs to get to where we want to go. I think stores and malls will have jet pack recharging stations and some kind of new fuel for flying cars. I don't think regular cars will be made anymore because fuel for them has run out.

We will have flying cars and hallagrams and robots and stuff like that by Tyler Dixon

I think that by 2088 there will be self-driving cars and stuff like that. People have come so far in my short life that I have no doubt that people will have cars like that. I also think that we will have found "the new gasoline".

I think it will be amazing! Everything could be flying like in Star Wars and everything could be faster and better. They could be better for people and the earth. There could be teleportation systems and maybe we won't even need a car! I'm really excited because anything could happen in the world of technology.

I think there will be more trains

In 2088 mobility will most likely be automatic and simple. Driving will be different and people will be lazier because everything is done for them. I don't think we'll have teleportation or flying cars or anything, but I definitely think that mobility will be easier and faster.

Mobility will be flying cars and people will have to try finding something new for them to run on, since gas is getting really valuable now. After flying cars, I think people will be teleporting instead or something like that.

In 20 years. I think there won't be cars, and there will be jet packs.

I think the "cars" will be a lot smaller than they are. They will still be cars I think.

I'm not sure if there will be a 2088 but if there is I think it will be very high tech!!!

Floating cars. They will fly

I think that there will be floating cars and it will be auto controlled.

1st video: I think robots will be popular in homes in 50 or more years. By then, I think they will have all the technology and testing that they need to make it successful. I don't think I would like to have a robot in my home because it would be kind of creepy to have something not really "alive" walking around your house.

2nd video: In 2088, I don't think that we'll have flying cars, but I do think that we will have ways of new and faster transportation.

Rylee said...

Yes, I think a lot to people will want them. In thirty years, they will probably just be getting started. In fifty, everyone will want them. Personally, I wouldn't want them. Robots aren't my thing.
Mobility will be way different. There will be tons of new, more efficient ways of traveling. People will get where they want to in many different ways. The amount of mobility in 2088 will be unbelievable.

I think robots will be popular sooner than later. I don't think I will like it very much. With mobility I don't think we will have many cars or trucks or buses but rather much more safer for you and the enviroment transportation.

2nd Video: What will "Mobility" look like in the year 2088? How will people get where they want to go?

1st Video: I think that in 20+ years it will be very common to have a robot in your house. In 50 years from now, I think that robots will just be a normal part of your daily life.

2nd Video: In the year 2088, mobility will look very different because robots will take over most jobs that humans have now. I think that people will get where they want to go by motorized walkers.

I think it will be more towards 30 years from now. I think it will be something that I would have to get used to.

I think pretty soon i think that people could to to work and not even have to leave their homes. Everything will be computer generated and computers will make everything easier. Robots will take over a lot of simple tasks that people do. I think they will get where they want to go by motorized robots that drive all by themselves

I think it would be cool to have a robot in my home like thirty years from now when I have kids. I think this Becuase when I have kids and there sick the robots can cook and clean form them, also take care of them.

1st: I think there will be robots in 30 years at the least. I think by 50 years, robots will be normal all the time.
2nd: I think people will get around by "robotic" cars. The cars could run on something else besides gas or do something that they don't do now; maybe drive themselves

I think it will be popular to have personal robots in 30 years because technology is already so advanced it won't take long to get to that point. Personally I wouldn't want to have a robot for my self because people would use the sense of independence. I think people will get around by electric flying cars or super super fast trains.

For the 1st question I think there will be a robot in 50 years from now. I don't think I will like it because it will decrease face to human contact.
For the 2nd video I think we will probably have flying cars because technology will be very advanced. They will be flying around and we will have stop lights and stop signs in the sky.

I don't think it will be very long until people have their own robots maybe 15-20 years. I think there will be robotic ars and flying cars.

I think we will have robots in our homes in 60 years. I wouldn't like it because I like doing thinks on my own
I think people will get to where they want to be by floating devices

Grace
I think that in year 1050 that we would have robots in our daily lives. I don't think I would like this because at any times, these robots could begin to form an AI system and take over. It seems science fiction but could happen. Plus, I wouldn't be able to do anything myself.

I think in 2088 that people would begin to have hydro powered cars or levitating cars. This seems very unreal but isn't this what people though about in the 80's? It's actually not that far off.

1. I would say as soon as possible, due to the fact that more people need help.
2. Things will be much more advanced and people might be flying.

1st Video: I think that it there will be personal robots in 20 years and that will be awesome I will like it.
2nd Video: Transportation will be working Hoover crafts. They will move above ground to get places.

I think it will be more popular in 50 years. I would like it because that would make things easier in life. Mobility will be more advanced and more efficient. People will probably be able to teleport or go through some easy route to their destination.

I think in 50 years robots will be popular. I would like to have a personal robot. Think we will have more high tech cars.

Anonymous said...

I think it is posible but not everyone will be able to get one and I think it would be cool. I think the mobility will be either hover chairs or other things in the lazy area.

Anonymous said...

It may actually be very nice having a personal robot if the robot doesn't corrupt. The mobility might either be the same or be greatly different.

I think that technology has come along way I also think that technology is not a bad thing. And keeping the world a better and more effienct place.

1. I think that 7 years from now robots will be popular. I'm not sure if i will like it.
2. I think that there will for sure will be flying cars.

1. I think it will be popular to have a personal robot with you in your home in about 40 years. I do think I would enjoy having a personal robot!
2. I think "Mobility" might look liike a real human or somewhat close to one in 2088. I think people might ride a robot that floats or something. Or the robot could carry them!

Anonymous said...

I think it will not be right now because of all of the movies robots taking over the world. Maybe in 30 years, but for sure in 50. They will probably replace our jobs, but then no one would get money, so not exactly sure his that will turn out. People will probably go to Mars for a day trip soon. 5 seconds you jump on a robots back and he will hit the speed of light.

Allison said...

I think it would be a little creepy to have a robot in my house! In 2088, there will be lots of mobility. I think there will be faster ways to transport and move things.

Anonymous said...

1. My guess is that in 35 years it will be popular to have a robot in your home. I think that I would like that because it would be helpful but it would be a big change.
2. In the year 2088 people will no longer have to walk anywhere or drive cars. People will be able to go places by teleporting or by going in a vehicle that drives itself.

1. I don't think that I'd like having a robot help me with simple tasks ever. I feel like having something help me with simple tasks. It would make me feel useless.
Mobility could be many different things in the future.
